A. Memorize John 3:5-7 and Galatians 3:26-27
Study John 3: 1-21 and Galatians 3:19-29
Galatians 3:27 says that “For as many of you as were baptized into (the name of ) Christ have put on (or clothed yourselves with) Christ.” Being baptized into Christ is what Christian baptism is all about.
Let’s gain and understanding of the word “Baptism” Baptism comes from the Greek word bapto (Strong’s Concordance #G911 and #G907) which means to be submerged of immersion or sunk, cover wholly with a fluid; in the N.T. only in a qualified or special sense, i.e. (literal) to moisten (a part of one's person), or (by implication) to stain (as with dye):- dip. The principle of being baptized is to state that you are associating yourself with a specific teaching or discipline. In this case as a Christian you are associating yourself with the Holy Bible and all that God has stated about Himself, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
